Service Description

SCHOOL PROGRAM - A target group of (up to 30) students learn a number of bitesized mindfulness, positive psychology and wellbeing techniques in order to facilitate small group wellbeing sessions. These may be more vulnerable/sensitive students who are lacking in self-belief, but it also works particularly well as a transition project with year 5, 6 and 7. The session offers numerous opportunities for relationship building through pair and group work. This peer education programme empowers students to teach the meditation, wellbeing and relaxation techniques they learn to younger pupils within small groups at school during Lunchtime Clubs/Wellbeing Wednesday’s and to upskill them to run whole school assemblies.  The programme is flexible and may be delivered as a one day workshop without the follow-up parent/carer assembly or as a weekly programme for one and a half hours over 5 weeks, culminating in week 6 with a parent/carer information sharing assembly and coffee morning. The assembly enables students to demonstrate their favourite strategies to parents/carers. The focus of this programme is to gently encourage children to push themselves outside their comfort zone in order to build their confidence, to promote a ‘Mindful School’ ethos, whilst at the same time building good community relationships.
